After a scorching recording career with the Scorpions and the high-flyin' UFO, Michael Schenker initiated his solo career. The early work from the "Mad Axeman" finds Schenker at his best, starting with his first solo release, and peaking with the kick ass Assault Attack album. The session work from 1979 previews material from the first MSG disc, and includes talented Talas bass player Billy Sheehan, Gary Barden (vocals), and Denny Carmassi (drums) [Montrose & Sammy Hagar Band]. They recorded some demos, but finally, they split, so Schenker and Barden recorded their first album with famed sessionmen (Mo Foster, Don Airey and Simon Phillips).
